What your child will learn
Identify cyberbullying patterns across 5 scenarios: exclusion, harassment, impersonation, outing, and cyberstalking
Apply the upstander response: capture evidence, support the target, report through the correct channel, and follow up
Walk through platform reporting tools and understand when involving a trusted adult is the right call
How this mission works
An interactive 5-scene lab on cyberbullying recognition and response. Scene 1: Classify 6 social media situations as cyberbullying, conflict, or banter — and explain why. Scene 2: Branching bystander simulation — choose the upstander path and see how it changes the outcome. Scene 3: Walk through the step-by-step reporting process on a simulated platform. Scene 4: Practice supporting a targeted classmate without becoming a bystander. Scene 5: Build an Anonymous Account plan for a friend in crisis.
What students actually encounter
A group chat is deliberately excluding one student — cyberbullying or conflict?
Someone posted an embarrassing photo of a classmate with a mocking caption. Bystander or upstander?
A stranger online knows your address and is sending threatening messages. What do you do?
Cipher is with them the whole way
When a student gets stuck on Bully Block, Cipher appears with a mission-specific nudge — no spoilers, just a hint toward the right thinking. Make a wrong choice, and Cipher explains the real-world consequence. Finish the mission, and Cipher generates a personalized performance debrief based on exactly how the student played it.
ISTE alignment
Students engage in positive, safe behaviors in digital environments and demonstrate empowered learning by recognizing and responding to harmful digital behavior.
