What your child will learn
Recognize that AI advice can be biased, outdated, or contextually inappropriate
Apply a 3-step evaluation framework before acting on AI-generated guidance
Understand when AI is helpful and when human judgment is still the best call
How this mission works
In the Final Challenge, students must evaluate advice from two AI mentors: Sensei Byte (wise, cautious, always explains limitations) and Professor Glitch (confident, never admits uncertainty, sometimes gives dangerous advice). Students receive 5 scenarios where an AI chatbot gives advice — some from Sensei Byte, some from Professor Glitch. Students must: (1) spot the quality difference, (2) evaluate the advice using a framework, and (3) decide whether to follow it, modify it, or ignore it. Completing all 5 earns the AI Wisdom Seeker badge.
What students actually encounter
AI suggests a "get rich quick" scheme using cryptocurrency — should you try it?
AI gives advice on a mental health crisis that contradicts what a counselor would say.
Cipher is with them the whole way
When a student gets stuck on The AI Advisor Evaluation, Cipher appears with a mission-specific nudge — no spoilers, just a hint toward the right thinking. Make a wrong choice, and Cipher explains the real-world consequence. Finish the mission, and Cipher generates a personalized performance debrief based on exactly how the student played it.
ISTE alignment
Students develop a framework for evaluating AI-generated advice and understand the limits and potential biases of AI guidance systems.
